Launched in 2007 due to the growing demand for Ardmore whisky, the traditional peated is the first official single malt from the distillery, a young and peaty whisky.

A classic whisky with a good level of peat from Speyside, but if we go beyond and analyze this excellent single malt, the first released by the distillery, we discover that it was finished in casks called "traditional cask". These casks are much smaller than the usual ex-bourbon or sherry casks (they are also known as "quarter cask"). The use of traditional casks, as explained by Alistair Longwell, director of Ardmore, "isn't for everyone because it enhances the sweet characteristic: if a whisky is already sweet, it might be too much. But with ours, it works because it rounds out the rough edges, giving a perfect balance of sweet and spicy." The Ardmore Traditional Cask is bottled at 46% ABV without cold filtration.
