Hazelburn was the name of a former distillery in the town of Campbeltown, active between 1825 and 1925. Today the brand is owned by Springbank, which uses it for its distinctive triple-distilled whiskies.
The Hazelburn 15 Years Old was distilled (triple distillation) in 2006 and matured for at least 15 years exclusively in casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. Bottled at 54.2% vol., without added colouring and without chill filtration, it was released in 9,000 bottles.

Color: Light amber.
Nose: Red fruit notes greet the nose; the sherry ageing is evident but not overpowering, with toasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate and caramel.
Palate: On the palate it almost doesn’t feel like a triple-distilled whisky; notes of caramel, dark chocolate, pears and lemon zest emerge, with hints of leather.
Finish: Delicate and slightly dry, with notes of orange chocolate, salted caramel and black pepper, with hints of strawberry jam and toasted dried fruit.
