The Arran Barley 10 Years Old is born from the agricultural and independent soul of the Lochranza distillery on the island of Arran. Here, in a unique natural setting, the island is often called “Scotland in miniature” due to its diverse landscapes, where barley grows caressed by the sea breeze. This single malt was created to celebrate that direct connection with the land: a whisky that highlights local raw materials and the fruity, clean style that has made Arran one of the most appreciated distilleries in the modern Scottish whisky scene.
This 10-year-old edition inaugurates the new “Barley Series” and is made using local Arran barley grown at Bellevue Farm, of the Optic variety. The spirit is matured in a selection of first-fill ex-bourbon casks and second-fill ex-sherry hogsheads. It was finally bottled at 50% vol., without chill filtration and without added colouring, with a total outturn of 18,000 bottles.

Color: Light gold, with straw reflections.
Aroma: On the nose we initially perceive notes of fresh herbs and citrus peel (lemon and orange), followed by a light sweetness of vanilla that joins notes of anise and hints of butter biscuits and honey.
Taste: The entry is lively and slightly oily: ginger, light spices and butter biscuits appear first, then more toasted notes such as wood and vanilla, followed by citrus and barley malt with hints of ripe apples.
Finish: Medium in length, tending towards a dry and fresh profile: citrus, cinnamon and anise, followed by barley malt and aromatic herbs.
