This Caol Ila 10 Years Old Cask Strength is a heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky aged for 8 years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by an additional 32 months in first-fill ex-bourbon hogsheads. Bottled in 2023 at its natural cask strength of 59.9% ABV, it is non-chill-filtered and free from added color.

Nose: The nose greets us with notes of medicinal smoke, butter biscuits, lemon, caramel, and ginger, with hints of blood orange and brine.
Palate: On the palate, it starts with notes of medicinal smoke that lead to tar, followed by some vegetal notes, salted butter, vanilla, and cinnamon with toasted cereals.
Finish: Long-lasting, slightly spicy, and dry, the smoke will not leave you easily, with additional notes of black pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, and lemon zest.
