The distillery’s history dates back to 1817, when Captain Hugh Monroe built Teaninich just north of Inverness. The increasing demand for whisky in the 1970s led to the construction of a second distillery just a few meters away from the original, which was decommissioned in 1984. In 2000, Teaninich became the first distillery to experiment with a mash filter for wort extraction.
The Teaninich 10 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky aged for at least ten years in oak casks before being bottled at a classic 43% ABV.
