The “Cask Craft” series by independent bottler Murray McDavid is a range of single malts from across Scotland, expertly matured in a variety of different cask types that showcase a refined balance between wood and spirit.
For this bottling, we have a Glen Elgin from the Speyside distillery—an unpeated single malt with notes of fresh fruit, sweet cereals, and a touch of ginger—finished in quarter casks that previously held peated whisky from an Islay distillery. These casks imparted sweet smoke notes, a hint of sea breeze, and delicate fruit to the Glen Elgin.
The Glen Elgin Peated Finish is a single malt Scotch whisky matured in selected oak casks and finished for a few months in ex-Islay peated whisky casks before being bottled at 44.5% ABV at its natural colour.
