The name GlenAllachie comes from the Gaelic “gleann aileachaidh,” which can be translated as “valley of the rocks.” Despite its relatively young age (founded in 1967) and some time spent in "mothballs," the distillery boasts a stock of over 40,000 casks—carefully selected to create this 12-year-old expression.
The GlenAllachie 12 Years Old is the flagship release of the renewed distillery. Every cask used has been hand-selected by Billy Walker and matured for at least 12 years in a mix of ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and virgin oak barrels. The result is a whisky with a sweet and fruity profile.
