The Isle of Raasay Distillery is located on the small island of the same name, situated between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland, in the Inner Hebrides. It is a young distillery but one with a strong identity: local spring water rich in minerals, long fermentations lasting up to five days, dedicated barley, and a mix of peated and unpeated spirit.
The Isle of Raasay Single Malt Batch R-01.4 belongs to the Signature Release line (“The Dùraam”). It is a single malt Scotch whisky created from a combination of peated and unpeated malt aged for a minimum of three years in a mix of first-fill ex-rye whiskey casks, ex-Bordeaux red wine barriques, and virgin Chinkapin oak casks. After maturation, the peated and unpeated spirits are married together and bottled on-site at 46.4% ABV, unchill-filtered and at natural color, presented in a beautiful textured glass bottle.

Color: Honey gold with light amber reflections.
Aroma: The nose opens with notes of maritime smoke, which become oilier over time, revealing hints of cherries, cinnamon, and cereals, with traces of peach and oak.
Taste: On the palate, the peat takes on a more mineral character than on the nose, followed by salted caramel, apple, lemon zest, and cereals with a light touch of ash.
Finale: Medium to long finish, with well-integrated peat smoke and notes of black pepper, salted caramel, toasted oak, and citrus.
