The Glengyle Distillery was founded in 1872 by William Mitchell, a member of a family with a long whisky-making tradition. However, in 1925, the distillery closed due to the economic challenges that impacted Campbeltown and the Scotch whisky industry as a whole.
In 2000, after decades of inactivity, Glengyle was purchased and restored by J&A Mitchell & Co., the same company that owns the nearby and renowned Springbank Distillery. The distillery officially reopened in 2004 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024.
The Kilkerran 15 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky aged for 15 years in a fresh ex-bourbon cask before being bottled at 56.4% ABV, non-chill filtered, and in its natural color. Only 202 bottles were produced.
