In the heart of the historic Scottish whisky region of Campbeltown — once a thriving hub of whisky production — stands the Glengyle Distillery, which was revived in 2004 after nearly eighty years of inactivity. Originally founded in 1872 by William Mitchell, the distillery saw both prosperity and decline, eventually closing in 1925 due to economic hardship in the industry. Its revival came thanks to Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd, led by Hedley Wright, the founder’s great-great-nephew, who restored the distillery with a commitment to craftsmanship and tradition.
The Kilkerran Cask Strength 8 Years Old Batch #11 is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky, aged for at least 8 years exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels, and bottled at cask strength (55.6% ABV) without chill filtration or added coloring.

Aroma: Lively and inviting, with an explosion of yellow fruit — lemon, peach, green apple, and a hint of ripe pear. Mineral and floral notes intertwine with hints of leather and yeast.
Palate: Nicely oily, offering a beautiful balance between fruity sweetness and earthier tones. Citrus and marzipan blend with toasted bread and oats. The ex-bourbon cask brings in a note of vanilla, while a touch of earthy peat and white pepper add contrast and depth.
Finish: Medium length, with a balanced conclusion of gentle peat, malty sweetness, and a slight bitterness of citrus peel. Mineral and tropical fruit notes linger in the background, leaving the palate dry and clean.
