The Laphroaig distillery is located on the southern coast of the island of Islay, near the village of Port Ellen, and was founded in 1815. Its position, directly facing the Atlantic Ocean, has historically influenced the identity of its whiskies. Laphroaig is one of the few Scottish distilleries that still carries out part of its malting on site, continuing to use traditional malting floors, although most of the malt now comes from external suppliers.
The Laphroaig Oak Select is a peated single malt Scotch whisky with no age statement, matured in a selection that includes five different types of casks: ex-sherry Oloroso, ex-sherry Pedro Ximénez, quarter casks, first-fill ex-bourbon casks, and American white oak casks. This whisky is bottled at a classic 40% vol.

Color: Bright gold.
Aroma: Notes of smoky peat with medicinal character and maritime hints greet the nose, followed by citrus and vanilla notes, with hints of chocolate and barley.
Taste: On the palate, smoky peat and sweet malted barley remain, joined by honey, citrus and light spices.
Finish: Medium to good in length, with gentle peat smoke, liquorice and sweetness, along with some floral and toasted almond notes.
