Maker’s Mark was created in 1953, with the first hand-dipped bottle hitting the market in 1958. Since then, it has become a staple in the bourbon world, known for its consistent quality and widespread availability. The distillery is located at Star Hill Farms in Loretto, Kentucky, about an hour and a half southeast of Louisville.
Maker's Mark is a straight bourbon made with a mash bill consisting of 70% corn, 16% wheat, and 14% malted barley. Aged for at least 6 years in new oak barrels, it is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) without added coloring.
