The first Naked Grouse blended whisky was launched in 2011 as part of The Famous Grouse family. Today, the expression has been relaunched under its own brand with a major change to the recipe: while the original was a blend of single malts and single grains, this new version contains only pure malt whiskies.
The Naked Malt is a no-age-statement blended malt Scotch whisky, made from single malts primarily sourced from Highland Park, Macallan, and Glenrothes. These are matured in first-fill and refill European or American oak casks and then finished for about 6 months in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
