In 1964, Nikka managed to purchase a column or continuous still from Scotland (also known as a Coffey still, named after its inventor Aeneas Coffey) and to use it at the Miyagikyo distillery mainly for the production of grain whisky. In 2014, Nikka decided to start offering a malt whisky distilled using the continuous method, and this is the result: a very distinctive whisky, rich and flavoursome.

Color: Light amber.
Aroma: Fresh, with notes of vanilla, tobacco and chocolate, with hints of banana, apples and cinnamon.
Taste: Smooth, with spicy notes (cinnamon, pepper and cloves), toffee; with the addition of water, vanilla notes emerge.
Finish: Long and oily, with notes of chocolate, wood, tobacco and hints of cinnamon.
