The Old Perth brand traces its roots back to the 19th century, when the city of Perth was one of the main centres of Scotch whisky blending. At that time several important whisky companies were based here, including John Dewar & Sons and Bell’s, helping to make the city one of the key hubs for the Scotch whisky trade. Today the brand has been revived by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, an independent company that has chosen to reinterpret this tradition with a range of blended malts made exclusively from single malts sourced from Speyside.
The Old Perth Double Sherry Wood is the latest expression in the range. It is a blended malt Scotch whisky composed exclusively of single malts from Speyside, matured in ex-sherry Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks, from which the name “Double Sherry Wood” is derived. After maturation this whisky has been bottled at 48.2% vol., without chill filtration and at its natural colour.

Colour: Bright amber.
Aroma: The aromatic profile opens with notes of red fruits accompanied by sherry-soaked raisins. Notes of cinnamon and nutmeg follow, together with brown sugar and milk chocolate, with hints of marzipan and cherries in spirit.
Taste: On the palate the sweetness of sherry dominates, with notes of raisins and barley malt. This is followed by notes of cocoa, fruit cake, salted caramel and spices such as cinnamon and ginger, with a background of vanilla and oak.
Finish: Of good persistence, with notes of sweet spices, honey and biscuit malt, followed by orange marmalade, oak and dried fruit that linger delicately on the palate.
