Smokehead is a brand belonging to Ian Macleod Distillers, which for some years has been offering a series of peated single malts coming from a distillery on the island of Islay (the exact distillery is not officially disclosed). The Smokehead brand was launched in 2006 and immediately intrigued enthusiasts with its peat, its unconventional look and contemporary packaging.
The Smokehead 15 Years Old is a limited-edition peated single malt Scotch whisky, aged for at least 15 years in classic oak casks before being bottled at the classic 43% vol.

Nose: On the nose we have initial notes of intense peat smoke, with hints of bonfire, tar and iodised sea air, then notes of vanilla, barley malt and lemon with touches of rosemary and thyme arrive.
Taste: On the palate too, it is the peat that strikes us — smoky and powerful — followed by citrus, wood, caramel and vanilla with hints of dried fruit and a marine touch.
Finish: Long-lasting, with notes of smoke that accompany us, vanilla, spiced wood and iodine with hints of black pepper and thyme.
