The new Springbank “Sherry Wood” series will comprise a total of five releases, all aged for 10 years and featuring double maturation in sherry casks. This is the second release in the series: the first focused on PX sherry, while the upcoming releases will involve finishes in Amontillado, Fino and Manzanilla casks.
The Springbank 10 Years Old Palo Cortado, released in 2023, is a single malt Scotch whisky aged for 6 years in refill ex-bourbon barrels and then for a further 4 years in first-fill ex-sherry Palo Cortado hogsheads. This single malt was bottled at 55% vol., without chill filtration and without added colouring, in a total outturn of 10,200 bottles.

Color: Deep amber.
Nose: Sweet, with notes of plums, figs, liquorice, toffee and salted caramel, with hints of pipe smoke and blueberries.
Palate: Intense, with notes of cloves, liquorice, plums, cinnamon and raisins, with sherry character and a light touch of peat.
Finish: Good length, oily, with notes of gentle peat, caramel, figs, butter and raisins.Related Products
