Behind the Teeling Distillery lies an area known as Blackpitts. In the past, this was Dublin’s industrial district, home to some of the city's largest malting houses. Naturally, peat was widely used for malting barley, and Blackpitts became known for its distinctive "aroma"—the classic smoky character that defines this Teeling whiskey.

The Teeling Blackpitts Big Smoke Cask Strength is a double-distilled peated single malt Irish whiskey, aged exclusively in ex-bourbon casks before being bottled at cask strength (56.5% ABV), non-chill filtered, with a total of 8,400 bottles produced.
