The Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Sherry Cask Edition is conceived as a “sherry-influenced” interpretation of the Classic Laddie. It is produced using 100% Scottish barley, with part of the raw material also coming from biodynamic farming, in line with the distillery’s philosophy of promoting Scottish agriculture and traceability.
This is a batch-produced whisky: each batch is hand-assembled by combining whiskies of different ages and cask types, always with the aim of maintaining the house style. For this reason, each batch may have a slightly different composition while remaining faithful to the classic Bruichladdich profile.
After an initial maturation, the whisky is finished in ex-sherry Oloroso casks from Fernando de Castilla in Jerez for a period ranging from 9 to 12 months. This step adds greater depth and aromatic richness without overshadowing the fresh and unpeated character of the distillate.
The result is an unpeated Islay single malt Scotch whisky that combines the typical freshness of the Classic Laddie with a more enveloping and spiced dimension, derived from the influence of sherry. It is bottled at 50% vol., without chill filtration and without added colouring.

Colour: Light amber.
Aroma: On the nose it is initially fruity, with notes of raisins, dried figs and dates accompanied by orange peel and honey. This is followed by notes of barley malt, caramel and vanilla, with hints of chocolate, dried fruit, light floral tones and a delicate maritime touch.
Taste: On the palate it opens with notes of dried fruit, raisins and orange marmalade, followed by toffee, honey and cocoa. The sherry adds depth with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and spiced oak, while the base distillate retains a fresh and citrusy character that balances the sweetness.
Finish: Of good persistence, with notes of cinnamon, orange peel, vanilla and oak, accompanied by a return of dried fruit and chocolate.
