The Old Bushmills Distillery, located in County Antrim in Northern Ireland, is one of the most historic distilleries in the world of whiskey. The distilling license in the area dates back to 1608, while the current distillery was founded in 1784. Bushmills has always specialised in the production of triple distilled single malt Irish whiskey, characterised by an elegant, smooth and strongly fruity style.
The Bushmills 18 Years Old Three Wood represents one of the most mature expressions in the distillery’s range. It is a single malt aged for 17 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry Oloroso casks, while in the final stage of maturation the whiskey is transferred into Colheita Port casks from the Douro Valley. The result is a particularly elegant Irish single malt whiskey, where the typical Bushmills smoothness meets deeper notes of ripe fruit, spices and oak. The whiskey is bottled at 46% vol.

Colour: Amber with red hues.
Aroma: On the nose a fruity and layered profile emerges, with red apple skin, cranberry sauce and strawberries, accompanied by notes of old wood, wood oil, worn leather and cedar. These are joined by more classic recurring notes of almond, hints of dried fruit and spices.
Taste: The entry is light and fruity with notes of red fruits and apricot, followed by dark chocolate, vanilla, black pepper and a touch of cinnamon, with hints of plums and exotic fruits such as mango and melon.
Finish: Of medium persistence, with a closing that combines spicy oak, baking spices, strawberries and fig jam, then giving way to dried fruit and a light vinous character.
