The distillery was built in the 1990s and faced its most important battle in the year 2000, when the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) challenged the distillery over the use of the word “Glen,” which, according to the SWA, should be reserved exclusively for Scotch whiskies. The legal battle lasted nine years, and in the end, Glenora emerged victorious. The name of this edition, “Battle of the Glen,” is a tribute to that epic fight.
The Glen Breton “Battle of the Glen” 15 Years Old is a peated Canadian single malt whisky distilled twice in pot stills (imported from Scotland). It is aged for at least 15 years in oak casks before being bottled as a limited edition at 43% ABV.
