On the suggestion of a Glen Breton enthusiast, the distillery embarked on a special collaboration with a renowned, award‑winning Nova Scotia winery, asking to use one of their oak casks that had previously held the precious Ice Wine Ortega. The idea was to finish one of their whiskies, giving it a unique touch. Thus, the experiment was born.
The Ice Wine, with its intensity and unmistakable character, began to leave its mark on the spirit. Day by day, the distillery monitored the whisky, carefully observing how it was enriched with subtle sweet and fruity notes.
After four months, the perfect moment arrived: balance had been achieved, and the whisky had found a new, refined expression.
The Glen Breton Ice 12 Years Old is a single malt whisky aged for over 11 years in ex‑bourbon casks, before being transferred for four months to oak casks that previously held Ice Wine. The whisky was finally bottled at a classic 40% ABV.
