A great whisky, Glenfarclas 105 is complex yet smooth, bottled at cask strength. The aroma is complex, with wood immediately coming to the fore, followed by notes of apples and pears, with the sweetness of dark caramel surprising the nose. On the palate it is dry and quickly develops spicy notes combined with a hint of oak wood and fruit. The finish is incredibly smooth and rounded with a slight smokiness. The distillery suggests adding a little water to fully explore its great depth.
