Glenfarclas distillery is one of the most respected names in the world of Scotch whisky, famous for its production centred on ageing in ex-sherry casks. It is located in Ballindalloch, in the heart of the Speyside region of Scotland. Founded in 1836 by Robert Hay, from the very beginning the distillery has taken advantage of the excellent spring water at the foot of Mount Ben Rinnes to produce whiskies of great character.
The Glenfarclas 105 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for at least 12 years exclusively in ex-sherry Oloroso casks. The name 105 is not accidental: it refers to the old “105 British Proof” measure, equivalent to 60% vol., indicating the alcohol strength of this cask-strength whisky. The origin of this designation dates back to 1968, when Glenfarclas was among the first to release a single malt bottled at full cask strength, turning “105” into a true icon.

Color: Deep gold with amber highlights.
Aroma: On the nose there are fruity notes and good complexity: dried fruits such as figs and raisins, dark chocolate, toasted walnuts, and light hints of caramel and warm spices.
Taste: On the palate the influence of sherry ageing remains central, with notes of candied orange peel, cinnamon, dark chocolate and raisins, with hints of roasted coffee.
Finish: Of good persistence, warm, with returning notes of sherry, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and sweet wood, and a light smokiness — a finish that lingers long after the sip.
