Nikka From the Barrel is a highly appreciated Japanese blended whisky, combining single malts from the Yoichi distillery (peated whiskies) and the Miyagikyo distillery (unpeated whiskies), together with grain whisky produced in the traditional and historic Coffey stills located in Miyagikyo and imported from Scotland in the 1960s. The whiskies thus produced are married and allowed to integrate in cask before being bottled.
The Nikka From The Barrel Extra Marriage adds extra time to this marriage of excellent Japanese whiskies, giving this blend further time to mature and harmonise in classic oak casks before being bottled at 51.4% vol.

Color: Deep amber, with golden reflections.
Nose: On the nose it opens with notes of butter, honey, nutmeg and ginger, with light notes of tropical fruit and a slight salty smoke reminiscent of the sea.
Taste: On the palate it is initially sweet with notes of candied lemon peel and vanilla, then barley malt, raisins and a dusting of cocoa with a hint of saline smokiness.
Finish: Medium persistence, harmonious and enveloping: we have notes of caramel, ginger, cane sugar, dried fruit and black pepper with hints of honey and cereals.
