he only distillery on the Isle of Mull is also one of the oldest active distilleries in Scotland, founded in 1798 by John Sinclair. The origin of the nearby village is also quite unique—Tobermory was not established by settlers or island residents, but by the British Fisheries Society, which in 1788 decided to create three new towns in Scotland to support the fishing industry. Along with Tobermory, Ullapool and Lochbay were also founded.
Tobermory 12 Years Old is an unpeated single malt Scotch whisky and marks the distillery's first release after a two-year refurbishment. This expression replaces the classic 10-year-old and is matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks. The whisky is bottled non-chill filtered at 46.3% ABV.
