Torabhaig is the second distillery built on the Isle of Skye (after Talisker). The project was conceived in the early 2000s by Sir Iain Noble, who obtained planning permission in 2002, but it was only realised in 2017 by Mossburn Distillers after his death. The distillery is housed in a restored 19th-century steading (traditional farm building) and produces peated single malts with a softer, more elegant style than Skye’s more rugged tradition. “Taigh” means “house” in Gaelic and refers to the first permanent expression from the house, designed to embody its characteristic style.
The Torabhaig Taigh is a Non-Age Statement (NAS) Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured in a combination of first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, refill ex-bourbon casks and a selection of Madeira casks. It is bottled at the classic strength of 46% vol., non-chill filtered and at its natural colour.

Color: Clear gold with straw reflections.
Nose: Opens with a coastal peat note balanced by earthy undergrowth aromas. Cooked apple, maple syrup, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon emerge over a background of cereal biscuit.
Palate: Soft and slightly oily, with elegant smoke wrapped in vanilla cream, toasted almond and sweet dried fruit. The peat is always present but gentle and well integrated.
Finish: Medium to long persistence, with a return of toasted oak, cinnamon, cloves and a pleasant coastal smoke that fades gently.
