Founded in 1897 by Alexander Edward in the town of Keith, in the heart of Speyside, the Aultmore Distillery takes its name from the Gaelic An t-Allt Mòr, meaning “the great stream.” Since its origins, it has supplied its spirit to prestigious blended whisky brands such as Dewar’s and White Label, thanks to its clean and slightly grassy profile.
The Aultmore 15 Years Old Ruby Marsala Finish is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky initially matured for about ten years in American oak refill hogshead casks, then finished for around six months in “Marsala Rubino” casks (from red grapes). Bottled at a classic 46% ABV, it contains no added coloring and is non-chill filtered.

Color: Amber gold.
Aroma: The nose is rich and immediately fruity. Ripe cherries, plums, and a hint of fresh pomegranate stand out, bringing vibrancy and warmth. The influence of the Marsala Rubino appears through a vinous, slightly tannic note that adds depth and complexity. In the background, vanilla, light oak, and a touch of dark chocolate emerge.
Taste: The entry is smooth, with the same red fruits that dominate the nose — cherry, plum, and pomegranate. Soon after come notes of honey, vanilla, and a light hint of hazelnut, while the Marsala influence provides restrained sweetness and a touch of spice and tannins.
Finish: Medium in length, with returning notes of red fruit and chocolate, complemented by a touch of toasted wood and a slight vinous dryness.
