A lesser-known but highly cherished distillery among enthusiasts, Ben Nevis traces its roots back to 1825. However, it wasn't until 1996, after its acquisition by the Japanese company Nikka, that its official single malt releases became a regular occurrence. This particular release dates back to 1996 and was purchased by a private collector, then bottled in 2006 but never withdrawn from the warehouses. After eleven years, it was brought to the attention of Chorlton, who, after tasting it, decided to purchase and bottle it under their own label.
The Ben Nevis 14 Years Old is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky, aged for 14 years exclusively in a single ex-bourbon barrel, before being bottled in 2025 at 53.1% ABV, with no added color and non-chill filtered, in a limited release of 277 bottles.

Color: Bright gold.
Aroma: On the nose we have initial notes of green apple, pear, malted cereals and lemon peel, with hints of vanilla and toasted wood and the classic minerality.
Taste: On the palate it is intense, with notes of barley malt, banana, pineapple and vanilla, with hints of digestive biscuits and citrus peel.
Finish: Good persistence, with the mineral notes of the Ben Nevis distillate still in the foreground, intertwined with toasted cereals, oak, ginger and citrus.
