Blue Spot is produced at the Midleton Distillery, located in County Cork, Ireland. Midleton is the production heart of modern Irish whiskey and produces all the single pot still expressions of the Spot range. The distillery uses a mash of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in large copper pot stills, following a distinctly Irish tradition.
The “Spot” range originated in Dublin in the 19th century, when whiskies were identified by coloured spots painted on the casks to indicate their age.
The Blue Spot 7 Years Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey aged for at least 7 years. Maturation takes place in a combination of ex-bourbon casks, ex-sherry casks and ex-Madeira wine casks, which help build a complex profile despite its young age. This whiskey is finally bottled at its natural strength (58.4% vol.), without chill filtration and at natural colour.

Color: Deep gold.
Aroma: On the nose, lively spices immediately emerge, along with apple and pear. Sweeter notes of vanilla and honey follow, with vinous hints and a light alcoholic edge due to the cask strength bottling.
Taste: The entry is spicy, with notes of black pepper, ginger and cloves. The structure is supported by ripe fruit, malt and a sweetness recalling honey and caramel, balanced by the influence of the wine casks.
Finish: Warm, dominated by spices and fruit, with a persistent cereal note and slightly vinous echoes.
