Gold Spot originates from the historic Mitchell & Son family, Dublin wine merchants active since 1805. This expression was created to celebrate 135 years of activity, hence the name “Generations Edition”. This whiskey represents a meeting point between Irish whiskey and Italian wine and tells the story of seven generations of the Mitchell family, custodians of the Spot range. Over time, the family has successfully combined tradition and expertise in both wine and whiskey, becoming one of the historic references of Irish drinks culture.
The Gold Spot 13 Years Old – Generations Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, then finished for a further 16 months in ex-Italian Recioto della Valpolicella wine casks before being bottled at a classic 46% vol.

Color: Deep gold with amber highlights.
Aroma: On the nose it opens with ripe fruit and yellow-fleshed fruit, with notes of baked apple and pear. Hints of honey and vanilla then emerge, followed by a deeper layer of red fruit and raisins, clearly linked to the Recioto della Valpolicella cask finish. In the background, sweet spices and a light tannic note.
Taste: The entry is soft and enveloping. The sweetness of malt and honey intertwines with cooked fruit, caramel and spices. The wine influence is clearly recognisable, with notes of ripe red fruit and a gentle tannic structure.
Finish: Medium in length, with notes of sweet spices, ripe fruit and cereals, accompanied by a persistent tannic note.
