Production of Red Spot takes place at the Midleton Distillery, in County Cork. As per tradition, Midleton uses a mix of malted and unmalted barley, distilled in large copper pot stills. All expressions of the Spot range are produced here, following this historic Irish tradition.
The “Spot” range traces its roots back to 19th-century Dublin, when whiskeys were identified by coloured spots painted on casks to indicate their age. Red Spot, historically one of the reference bottlings of the range, today represents the most mature regularly available expression.
The Red Spot 15 Years Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey aged for at least 15 years in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks, European oak ex-sherry casks and American oak ex-Italian fortified Marsala wine casks, before being bottled at a classic 46% vol. and without chill filtration.

Color: Amber gold.
Aroma: On the nose, ripe and dark fruits emerge, with notes of plum and raisin. Sweet spices, caramel and a light tannic component follow, attributable to maturation in ex-Marsala casks.
Taste: The palate is rich and structured. Malt sweetness intertwines with cooked fruit, spices, caramel and notes of fortified wine, along with a light hint of oak.
Finish: Medium in length, with lingering spices, dark fruit, citrus peel and a vinous-sweet trace linked to the Marsala influence.
