Loch Lomond 13 Years Old 2005 - Claxton’s Single Cask (57,5% - 700ml)
Loch Lomond 13 Years Old 2005 - Claxton’s Single Cask
A very particular heavily peated single malt from the Loch Lomond distillery in the Highlands. If you feel like trying an atypical peated whisky, this is an excellent choice — but be warned, you might like it a lot!

The Loch Lomond distillery was founded in 1965 during the whisky boom as a distillery that mainly produced malt and grain spirits for blends. It is located in Alexandria, a small town on the shores of Loch Lomond. The distillery has Scotland’s most unusual equipment: it features a Coffey column still for continuous distillation, four pairs of copper pot stills for batch distillation (three of which are equipped with rectifiers installed in the neck of the stills). Thanks to these rectifiers, the distillery is able to produce half a dozen different malts. In addition, in 2008 a new continuous still was added, consisting of two copper columns enclosed in stainless steel for the production of malt distillate.
The Loch Lomond 13 Years Old Claxton’s Single Cask is a heavily peated whisky distilled on 24/02/2005 and matured in a single ex-bourbon hogshead (#1962-113) for more than 13 years before being bottled in 2019 at full strength (57.5% vol.), without added colouring and without chill filtration, in a total of 286 bottles.
