Mac-Talla is a brand created by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a family-owned Scottish independent bottler. The Mac-Talla range brings together Islay single malts from a mysterious (undisclosed) distillery, selected to represent different interpretations of the island’s character. The name “Mac-Talla”, which in Gaelic means “echo”, recalls the idea of a reflection of Islay’s profile through different maturations.
This Friends of the Fèis 2025 edition was created specifically for the Fèis Ìle festival.
The Mac-Talla Amarone is a peated single malt Scotch whisky with no age statement, aged in traditional oak casks before undergoing a second maturation of 24 months in two first-fill ex-Amarone wine casks from Valpolicella. This whisky is bottled at its natural strength (54.3% vol.), without chill filtration and at natural colour, in a total of 928 bottles.
