Springbank distillery is one of the most iconic and respected distilleries in Scotland, as well as a living symbol of Campbeltown’s revival as a whisky region. Founded in 1828, it is today one of the very few remaining fully independent distilleries and, above all, one of the rarest in the world to manage every single stage of production in-house: from floor malting the barley, to distillation, maturation and bottling.
The Springbank 5 Years Old 100° Proof is a lightly peated single malt Scotch whisky, matured for at least five years exclusively in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at the historic strength of 100° Proof, which in the United Kingdom corresponds to 57.1% vol.
This choice of bottling strength pays homage to the old British proof system, originally conceived as a guarantee of authenticity and quality for spirits during the era of British naval trade.
True to the distillery’s philosophy, the whisky is bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring, preserving its vibrant and youthful character intact.

Color: Light gold.
Nose: Initially fresh and fruity, with notes of green apple and lime zest, followed by a sweeter side of custard cream and icing sugar, with mineral hints and a light touch of peaty smoke.
Palate: On the palate, despite its young age, it is unmistakably Springbank, with a nicely oily arrival and a well-balanced interplay between sweetness and spice. Notes of caramel, yellow fruit, toasted cereals, cinnamon and white pepper emerge, with hints of maritime peat.
Finish: Medium to long in length, with warm notes of white pepper, caramel, white chocolate, barley malt, honey and a light maritime peaty smoke.
