The Colour Collection is a series of single malt Scotch whiskies created by The Macallan to celebrate one of the distillery’s defining elements: the natural colour of the whisky, derived exclusively from cask maturation. The range includes several age-stated expressions: 12, 15, 18, 21 and 30 years, designed to showcase the evolution of both colour and aromatic profile over time.
The Macallan Colour Collection 15 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky matured for fifteen years in ex-sherry oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera, using a combination of American and European oak. It is bottled at 43% vol. and at its natural colour.
The series was initially launched in travel retail, and the design of the bottle and packaging was created by renowned graphic designer David Carson, who developed an aesthetic inspired by the landscapes and colours of the Jerez region, the origin of the sherry casks used by Macallan.

Colour: Light amber.
Aroma: On the nose it is elegant, with delicate notes of oak and toffee, followed by candied orange peel and ginger. With time, sweeter and fruitier notes emerge, including raisins, red apple and dried fruit, accompanied by hints of caramel and baking spices.
Taste: The palate is led by sweet citrus and pastry notes, reminiscent of a citrus tart or vanilla custard. Baked peaches, honey and caramel follow, accompanied by nuances of dried fruit and light spices.
Finish: Of medium persistence, balanced and refined, with notes of toasted oak, orange peel and cinnamon, accompanied by a vanilla sweetness.
