Bunnahabhain Distillery was founded in 1881 on the island of Islay, in the north-eastern part of the island, near Port Askaig. The distillery is historically associated with a predominantly unpeated style, but it also produces peated whiskies, bottled both as official distillery releases and for dedicated selections.
The Bunnahabhain 10 Years Old – Discovery Range is a heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky aged for at least 10 years in a selection of oak casks and bottled, without chill filtration and at natural colour, at 43% vol. as part of the Discovery range by the historic Scottish independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail.

Color: Pale straw yellow, with bright highlights.
Nose: On the nose there are aromas of vanilla and toffee, with a light hint of honey, accompanied by gentle peat and a touch of sea salt that recalls the distillery’s proximity to the coast.
Palate: On the palate there are sweet notes of candied lemon and lime intertwined with apple and salted caramel, with hints of liquorice, while the presence of smoky peat adds a savoury, maritime character.
Finish: The finish is persistent, with returns of lemon zest, vanilla, black pepper and ginger, along with a light bonfire smoke reminiscent of a beach fire.
