For those who may not yet be familiar, Wilson & Morgan is an Italian independent bottler that began releasing whiskies under its own label in 1992. At the helm is Fabio Rossi, one of the most experienced connoisseurs of Scotch whisky.
The Caol Ila 18 Years Old by Wilson & Morgan is a peated single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2007 and aged in a single refill ex-bourbon cask before being transferred for the final 5 years into a first fill ex-bourbon cask (#311594). It was bottled in 2025 at its natural strength of 59.1% vol., without added colouring and without chill filtration, in just 261 bottles.

Colour: Antique gold.
Aroma: On the nose, the typical Caol Ila peat welcomes us without being overpowering—sea breeze, tar and salt, with notes of lemon and vanilla.
Taste: On the palate the peat interacts with other notes—vanilla, liquorice root, barley malt and ginger—with hints of green apple and a salty touch that lingers on the lips.
Finish: Long and persistent, with notes of citrus, custard, brine and spiced oak, while the smoky peat is slow to fade.
