The “Lighthouse” series was conceived to guide lovers of peated whisky on a sensory journey through the flavours of the island of Islay. The brand, owned by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, invites European and British partners to participate in the final selection of the distillate, giving this release a strongly collaborative character.
The Mac-Talla Lighthouse Release 2025 is a peated single malt Scotch whisky matured in a series of selected casks: ex-sherry Oloroso hogsheads (40%), ex-bourbon barrels (37%), ex-French Bordeaux wine barriques (17%) and ex-sherry Pedro Ximénez casks (8%). After the maturation period it was finished in new oak casks (virgin cask). This whisky is finally bottled at its natural strength (54.7% vol.), without chill filtration and at its natural colour.

Colour: Burnished copper.
Aroma: On the nose it presents an intense sweetness with maritime hints: toffee and milk chocolate lead the opening, followed by dried fruit and cinnamon with hints of sea breeze.
Taste: On the palate the texture becomes richer and the sherry and wine casks provide a beautiful aromatic imprint, with notes of caramel and chocolate, black pepper and cinnamon, all balanced by a soft peat smoke and light hints of oak wood.
Finish: Long and warm, the smoke is well present with a spicy return, followed by notes of sea salt, orange peel, a light touch of vanilla and raisins.
