The Mac-Talla series, created by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, pays tribute to the island of Islay through a range of single malts sourced from undisclosed distilleries on the island. The name “Mac-Talla”, which in Gaelic means “echo”, recalls the echo of the waves and the wind along the island’s rugged coasts.
The Mac-Talla PX Release 2026 is a peated single malt Scotch whisky without age statement, matured exclusively in a combination of first-fill ex-sherry PX butts and refill hogsheads also ex-sherry PX. This whisky has finally been bottled at its natural strength (52.8% vol.), without chill filtration and at its natural colour. Mac-Talla PX offers a deep and enveloping profile in which dark fruit, sweet notes and smoke combine harmoniously.

Colour: Deep molasses.
Aroma: On the nose, intense notes of dark fruit immediately emerge, with dates and raisins standing out, accompanied by a deep sweetness reminiscent of caramel. In the background, a delicate peat can be perceived, adding depth without overpowering the sherry component.
Taste: On the palate the whisky is rich and enveloping, with raisins and toffee blending with a light maritime salinity and with warm spices coming from the wood. The salty peat remains present but well integrated, helping to balance the sweetness of the Pedro Ximénez.
Finish: Long and persistent, with returning notes of raisins, dark fruit and caramel accompanied by a maritime peat that lingers on the palate.
