Rossville Union takes its name from the historic Rossville Distillery (later Ross & Squibb), founded in 1847 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, one of the historic cradles of rye whiskey production in the United States. Today the distillery is managed by MGP Ingredients, one of America’s largest whiskey producers, known as the “Masters of Rye”. The Rossville Union brand, launched in 2018, represents MGP’s return to the market with its own proprietary label that celebrates this centuries-old heritage.
The Rossville Union 5 Years Old is a Straight Rye Whiskey of 5 years (blend of barrels aged between 5 and 7 years), obtained from the union of two different MGP rye mash bills: the classic 95% rye and the softer 51% rye. Bottled at 47% vol. (94 proof), it features a distinctive square flask design with the year “1847” embossed on the glass.
