The Macallan, founded in 1824 on the banks of the Spey, is one of Scotland’s most famous and prestigious distilleries, whose reputation has always been based on its mastery in cask selection.
The Classic Cut series, launched in 2017, was created precisely to showcase this mastery through an annual limited edition. Its particularity lies in the strength, which is deliberately chosen each year by The Macallan’s whisky maker Steven Bremner to highlight a different aromatic profile with every release.
The Macallan Classic Cut 2024 is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky, the eighth release in the series, matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon oak casks and European ex-sherry oak casks. It is bottled at 52.4% vol. and at its natural colour.

Color: Warm golden gold.
Nose: Rich and creamy, opening with intense vanilla and almond notes, followed by ripe pear, flower honey and marzipan, with toffee, beeswax, citrus zest and fresh herbs completing the picture.
Palate: Full and oily, with custard, milk chocolate and juicy green apple, enlivened by oak spices, ginger and a touch of grapefruit; the high strength is well integrated.
Finish: Of good persistence, with notes of orchard fruit, caramel and a trail of floral honey that gradually becomes more intense, closed by sweet and spicy oak notes.
