Glenlossie 12 Years Old - Cadenhead's Original Collection (Release 2026) (46% - 700ml)

Founded in 1876 by John Duff — formerly manager at Glendronach and later one of the founders of Longmorn and BenRiach — together with Alexander Allen, H.M.S. Mackay and the London blender John Hopkins, Glenlossie stands just south of Elgin in the heart of Speyside. Passed to DCL in 1919, it built its reputation in the world of blends: its distillate has always been one of the most sought-after components, so much so that in 1974 it was included among the twelve “top class” malts for blending. For this very reason it remains a rarity as a single malt, with only the Flora & Fauna 10 Year Old serving as the official reference.

The character of the spirit is born in the still house: the spirit stills are fitted with a purifier pipe between the lyne arm and the condenser, which returns the heavier alcohols to be redistilled and increases reflux. The result is a light, herbaceous new make that at the same time has a slightly oily texture. Since 1971 the site has been shared with the sister distillery Mannochmore, built to meet the demand for blends, and houses fourteen warehouses with around 250,000 casks in maturation.

The Glenlossie 12 Years Old Cadenhead’s is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, aged for 12 years in bourbon hogsheads, before being bottled at 46% vol. without chill filtration and without the addition of colouring.
