The distillery on the island of Jura seems almost lost in time and space. It is located on the Isle of Jura, a wild and silent corner of Scotland, where roads are few, inhabitants are very rare, and the landscape dominates everything. Founded in 1810 and revived in the 1960s after a long period of closure, the distillery is deeply connected to the island’s community. Jura is not a place you pass through by chance: you only get there if you truly want to.
The Cask Strength Collection by Signatory features whiskies matured in single casks and bottled at their natural strength, without chill filtration and without added colour.
The Jura 16 Years Old Cask Strength is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled on 15 April 2009 and matured for 16 years. We do not have precise information about all the casks used during its maturation, but we do know that this distillate was finished in a single first-fill ex-sherry Oloroso butt before being bottled on 27 May 2025 at its natural strength of 54.2% vol., without added colour and without chill filtration, in a total of 676 bottles.

Colour: Amber.
Aroma: On the nose, initial notes of sea breeze and salinity emerge; the briny character then gives way to sweeter sherry-driven notes, with raisins and cocoa. This is followed by a more fruity side, with baked apples and honey, along with floral hints and a light trace of smoke.
Taste: On the palate the profile balances sweet and salty, with sherry maturation notes in the foreground, always supported by a coastal character. We find notes of smoked dates, raisins and toffee, followed by salty liquorice, light brine and spices, particularly nutmeg.
Finish: Dry and maritime, with notes of charred oak and cocoa, nutmeg, raisins and a pinch of salt.
