This is not simply a “first 10 year old,” but a whisky designed to fully embody the distillery’s style. After production began in 2014 and, last year, the first age-stated release, the 10th Anniversary Edition, today arrives what can be considered the true milestone of the project: the first 10 year old intended for the core range. It is the bottle that Ardnamurchan had in mind from the very day the stills began producing their first new make.
The Ardnamurchan AD/10 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky composed, in line with the distillery’s style, of a vatting of unpeated (52%) and peated (48%) spirit, both matured for at least 10 years. The maturation takes place mainly in ex-bourbon barrels (98%), with the contribution of a small selection of ex-sherry hogsheads (2%). It is bottled at 46.8% vol., without added colouring and without chill filtration in 16,380 bottles.
