Benriach 12 Years Old 100 Proof Series - Signatory (57,1% - 700ml)

Benriach is a Speyside distillery founded in 1898 by John Duff, the same entrepreneur who had created Longmorn a few years earlier. After just two years of operation, the distillery was closed following the Pattison Crash, one of the biggest financial collapses in Scottish whisky history, and remained inactive for over sixty years (although its maltings continued to supply malt to Longmorn). It reopened in 1965 and passed through several owners (including Seagram and Pernod Ricard) before being closed again in 2002. In 2004 it was acquired by an independent consortium led by Billy Walker, who relaunched it with a strong focus on innovation in cask finishes and the production of both unpeated and lightly peated whiskies. In 2016 the distillery was acquired by the American group Brown-Forman.

This Benriach 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2013 for the 100 Proof series Edition #69. It was matured in first-fill ex-Oloroso sherry butts and ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2025 at 57.1% vol., non-chill filtered and at its natural colour.
