Brands:

Caol Ila is a distillery on the Isle of Islay, founded in 1846. It produces peated single malts with a relatively clean and accessible character compared to some of the more extreme Islay styles. Much of its production goes into blends (especially Johnnie Walker), but its single malt expressions — particularly the independent bottlings — are highly appreciated for their balance between smoke, sweetness and coastal notes.

This Caol Ila 13 Years Old is a peated single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2012 and matured for at least 13 years in first fill and refill ex-Oloroso sherry butts and refill hogsheads, before being bottled on 14 January 2026 at 57.1% vol. (100 UK Proof), non-chill filtered and at its natural colour.

Finish: Good length, maritime, with notes of coastal smoke, lemon zest and a light saltiness reminiscent of brine.
