This Blair Athol is part of the Warehouse No.1 series. Warehouse number 1 is located at Dalswinton Bond in the Lowlands and offers the highest-quality releases from the independent bottler Claxton’s. Quarter casks hold about 50 liters and are generally one quarter the size of standard barrels (180–200 liters). The smaller volume of the cask is compensated by the greater surface contact between wood and liquid, which accelerates the whisky’s maturation.
The Blair Athol 8 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled on August 6, 2015, and aged for around 7 years in a classic ex-bourbon cask before being transferred to a Ruby Port quarter cask. This whisky was bottled at cask strength (51.2% ABV), non-chill filtered, and with no added colouring, in a total of 160 bottles.
