Bowmore is one of Scotland’s oldest and most famous distilleries, founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal and the first legal distillery on the Isle of Islay. This independent bottling by North Star Spirits, created for the tenth anniversary of the brand, highlights its coastal elegance by using only one type of wood.
The Bowmore 11 Years Old is a peated single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2026. The whisky was matured for 11 years entirely in a single refill ex-bourbon barrel — a second-fill cask that imparts measured aromas and lets the distillate take centre stage: soft peat, citrus and a maritime note. It is bottled at natural cask strength (57.9% vol.), without chill filtration and at its natural colour in a total of 317 bottles.

Color: Light gold.
Nose: Opens with gentle peat smoke and a waft of sweet tobacco, on a base of vanilla, malt and citrus custard, with a dusting of white pepper.
Palate: Oily, playing between liquorice and hard candies, a touch of anise, aromatic peat and smoked fruit, with lemon and spicy wood providing freshness.
Finish: Of good persistence, salty and peppery, with a fresh slice of lemon, ginger and a persistent smoky trail.
