Tamnavulin, whose name in Gaelic means “mill on the hill”, was founded in 1966 on the banks of the River Livet in the heart of Speyside and has always been renowned for its soft, fruity single malts that are particularly well suited to sherry maturation. This independent bottling by North Star Spirits, created for the tenth anniversary of the brand, highlights its richest side.
The Tamnavulin 12 Years Old is a single malt Scotch whisky distilled in May 2013 and bottled in March 2026. This 12-year-old comes from four refill octaves of ex-Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry: the very small size of octave casks intensifies the interaction with the wood, allowing the sweetness of the PX to add its notes to the distillate. It is bottled at natural cask strength (57.9% vol.), without chill filtration and at its natural colour, in a limited edition of 290 bottles.
